Many of the fibroids and endometriosis patients I see in my medical practice complain of major stress along with their physical symptoms. My personal impression, like a doctor who has worked with women patients for almost 20 years is that stress is an important component of many chronic health problems and recurring, such as fibroids and endometriosis. To discount the effects of pressure on the lifestyle of the disease is a serious mistake. If the doctor ignores stress as a contributing factor, not the patient receives the tools or the vision to change their habits and behavior to better maintain good health and well being.Research studies have confirmed the negative effects of stress on many different diseases . At the physiological level, stress increases production of cortisone by the adrenal glands, impaired immune function, raise blood pressure and heart rate, and affects hormonal balance. In women with fibroids and endometriosis, stress can negatively affect hormonal balance and muscle tone, altering the balance between estrogen and progesterone and the firing of excessive output of adrenal stress hormones. This can affect the body's ability to limit scarring and inflammation caused by endometrial implants. The growth in the size of fibroids can also be seen in times of stress.Stress fibroid and endometriosis patients can arise over issues such as safety and performance, money problems, relationship problems with family and friends , overwork, and a host of other problems common diseases. Moreover, women with fibroids and endometriosis have specific stress due to the diseases themselves, including concerns about their health and about the painful symptoms that are disrupting their lives and welfare. Infertility can result from fibroids and endometriosis is a particularly disturbing for women who are trying to raise a family. Pain during sex is also common in women with endometriosis can disrupt a healthy sexual relationship, causing distress and discord.A variety of stress management techniques can help women suffering from fibroids and endometriosis. Some women find counseling or psychotherapy to be effective, while others rely heavily on support from family and friends. Many women find it helps to rethink how they handle stressful situations and to implement lifestyle changes. Practicing stress reduction techniques as meditation and deep breathing exercises on a regular basis also helps them handle stress more effectively, as does a physical exercise program. Whatever method you decide to practice, I urge you to watch your stress level carefully and do everything possible to handle emotionally charged issues as calmly as possible. The stress management exercises in this chapter are a very important part of the fibroids and endometriosis self help program that I recommend to my patients. For many women, the intensity of pain and cramping varies from month to month, depending on the lifestyle factors of many. My patients often tell me your blood and cramps are worse when they are most annoying. As you begin to anticipate the onset of her menstrual period, I recommend using stress reduction techniques on a daily basis. Se puede realmente hacer una diferencia. If you break the day's tasks with a few minutes of exercises on stress reduction, you will feel much more relaxed. Using these stress reduction techniques, can perform the tasks on time, but much more relaxed, enjoyable, and to improve manner.Exercises health RelaxationTo help you deal with the emotional stress that can be increased if you are suffering from symptoms related to fibroids and endometriosis, I recommend a variety of relaxation methods. The focus, meditation, muscle relaxation, affirmations, visualizations, and each can help foster a sense of calm and wellbeing when practiced regularly. This chapter includes exercises for all these categories for you to try. Choose the most enjoyable and practice on a regular basis. I have taught these exercises to women patients for many years and love to practice myself. Sometimes I advise my patients to learn these techniques on your own through books and tapes, other times I taught the exercises to the patients in my office. My patients have been very excited with the results achieved through stress reduction exercises. I often say they feel much calmer and happier. They also find their physical health improves. A calm mind seems to have beneficial effects on body physiology and chemistry, restoring the body to a normal condition. To prepare for relaxation exercises in this chapter, I propose the following steps: First Step.Wear loose clothing and comfortable. Securely comfortably. For many women, this means lying on their backs. You can also do the exercises sitting. Try to make your spine as straight as possible. Uncross arms and Step.Focus legs.Second attention on the exercises. Do not allow distractions to interfere with their concentration. Close your eyes and breathe deeply, in and out. This will help eliminate the thoughts of the problems and tasks of the day and begin to quiet the 1 mind.Exercise: FocusingIf have fibroids or endometriosis associated with menstrual cramps and pelvic pain, this exercise has focused its attention away from her pelvic area and lower your body as you focus on the other hand, clear your mind and breathing deeply. At the end of this exercise, you may find that your discomfort is less severe. This is also a useful exercise to induce a sense of peace and calm. * Sit in a comfortable position. * Keep your watch in the palm of your hand. * Focus all your attention on the movements of the second hand of the clock. * Inhale and exhale as you do this. Continue to focus for 30 seconds. Do not let other thoughts enter your mind. At the end of this time, notice your breathing. You may find that it has slowed down and is quieter. You may also feel a sense of peace and a decrease of anxiety I had in principle this 2 exercise.Exercise: MeditationMany peaceful women suffering from fibroids or endometriosis complain of daily life stress. Stress can lower the pain threshold, increased muscle tension and discomfort. You can also worsen PMSrelated irritability and mood swings, which often coexists with fibroids and endometriosis. Simple meditation techniques are a way to combat this stress. Meditation requires you to sit quietly and engage in simple and repetitive activity. When you empty your mind, you take a break. Your body's metabolism slows down. Meditation gives your mind a break from the stress and worry. It is particularly useful during menstruation, when multiplied every bit of stress. After meditating may find their mood improved markedly and his ability to handle everyday stress better. * Lying down or sitting in a comfortable position. Close your eyes and breathe deeply. Let your breathing be slow and relaxed. * Focus all your attention on your breathing. Observe the movement of the chest and abdomen in and out. * Block all other thoughts, feelings and sensations. If you feel your attention wandering, return to your normal breathing. * Say the word quot; descansoquot; to inhale. Say the word quot; relaxquot; the exhale. Remove the pronunciation of each word to complete breathing hard: rrrreeeesssstttt, rrreeell1aaaxxx. Repeat these words will help you concentrate. * Repeat this exercise until you feel very relaxed.Exercise 3: Healing meditation exercise MeditationThis promotes healing through a series of beautiful and peaceful images can be invoked to create a positive mindset during the premenstrual and menstrual time of the month. (You can use this exercise during their time free of symptoms, too.)'s Premise is a healing meditation that the mind and body are intimately related. When viewing a beautiful scene in which his body is being healed, you stimulate positive chemical and hormonal changes that help create this condition. This process can reduce pain, discomfort and irritability. Also, if you display a negative scene as a fight with a spouse or a boss, the negative mental image can trigger an outflow of chemicals in the body that may worsen the symptoms caused by fibroids or endometriosis. The axiom quot; piensoquot are what it is literally true. I've seen the power of positive thinking for years in my practice. I always tell my patients that healing of the body is much more difficult if the mind is full of upset, angry or fearful images. Healing meditations, when practiced regularly, can be a powerful therapeutic tool. If you enjoy this form of meditation, try to design your own with pictures that make you feel good. * Lie on your back in a comfortable position. Inhale and exhale slowly and deeply. * See a beautiful green meadow full of beautiful fragrant flowers. In the middle of this meadow is a golden temple. See the temple emanating peace and healing. * Imagnate entrar en este templo. You're the only person inside. It's quiet and peaceful. As you stand within this temple, you feel a healing energy fill every pore of his body with a warm golden light. This energy feels like a healing balm that relaxes you completely. Any anxiety dissolves and disappears from your mind. You feel totally at ease. * Open your eyes and continue breathing deeply and slowly for 4 minute.Exercise: Discovering and TensionThis muscle following exercise will help you get in touch with their areas of muscle tension, and then teach you how to release that tension. This sequence is important for women with fibroids or endometriosis who suffer from recurrent cramps, back pain or abdominal discomfort. Many of these symptoms are due in part to chronically tight and tense muscles that may attach to both problems. Tense muscles tend to have reduced blood circulation and oxygenation, and may accumulate an excess of waste products such as carbon dioxide and lactic acid. Interestingly, some women with menstrual cramps and pelvic pain lead to tension in these areas during the entire month, even when the cramps were absent. They tend to reinforce the efforts of the pelvis and lower abdominal muscles in response to work, and sexual relationship. Generally, this tension in the muscles of the pelvis is an unconscious response that develops over many years and provides the emotional pattern that causes cramps. For example, when a woman is feeling uncomfortable with sex or one partner in particular, these muscles can tighten when using or even thinking about sex. Tense muscles also affect the moods of a woman, making it more quot; tensoquot; and irritable. Muscular and emotional tension usually coexist. The movement is an effective way to break habitual patterns of holding and contracting muscles. When muscles are loose and flexible, a woman tends to feel more relaxed and in a better mood. Anxiety tends to disappear, replaced by a sense of expansiveness and calm. * Lie in a comfortable position. Allow your arms to rest comfortably at your sides, palms down, on the surface next to you. * Now, simply raise your right hand and arm, and remain elevated for 15 seconds. Note * Please if your forearm feels tight and tense or if the muscles are soft and flexible. * Now, hold your hand and arm and relax. The arm muscles are relaxed. * As you stand still, look elsewhere in your body that feel tense, muscles that feel tight and sore. You may notice a constant dull pain in certain muscles. Tense muscles and block blood flow to cut the supply of nutrients to tissues. In response to poor oxygenation, muscle produces lactic acid, which increases discomfort.Exercise muscular 5: Progressive muscle relaxation * Lie in a comfortable position. Allow your arms rest at your sides, palms down, on the surface next to you. * Inhale y exhale lentamente y profundamente. * Press your hands into fists and hold them tightly for 15 seconds. By doing this, relax the rest of his body. View the contracting party tense, more and more strong. * Then let your hands relax. The relaxing, see a golden light flowing throughout the body, making all your muscles soft and supple. * Now, tense and relax the following parts of your body in this order: face, shoulders, back, stomach, pelvis, legs, feet, hands and feet. Hold each side for 15 tense seconds, then relax your body for 30 seconds before moving on to the next part. * Finish the exercise by shaking hands and imagine the tension leaving your remaining fingertips.Exercise 6: AffirmationsAffirmations are positive statements that describe how you want your body to be. They are very important because they align your mind with your body in a positive way. In the meditations of healing (Exercise 3) to achieve this objective through the use of positive images, claims to do through the power of suggestion. Their health is determined in part by the interaction between mind and body through the thousands of messages you send yourself every day with your thoughts. You can increase menstrual bleeding and endometrial fibroids and cramps and discomfort in the pelvis with negative thoughts, because when your body thinks you are sick, it behaves accordingly. Therefore, it is essential to cultivate a positive belief system and a positive body image as part of their healing program. Not enough to keep a good diet and vigorous exercise routine when you are in the healing process menstrual cramps. You should also tell your body that is a good, fully functional system. I've seen people stay sick and sabotage their healing program by sending it a barrage of negative messages. Sit in a comfortable position. Repeat the following statements. Repeat three times those that are particularly important to you. * My female system is strong and healthy. * My hormone levels are perfectly balanced and regulated. * Chemistry of my body is healthy and balanced. * I'm going through my menstrual cycle with ease and comfort. * My selfregulating menstrual flow. I have light to moderate bleeding. * My body is relaxed and free of pain. * My vaginal muscles relaxed and comfortable. * My cervix and uterus is relaxed and free of pain. * My uterus is normal in size and shape. * My menstrual flow comes out of my body easily and effortlessly each month. * My body feels wonderful as the beginning of each monthly period. * I just know that my body is preparing to menstruate. * I feel great every month before menses. * My uterus is relaxed and receptive, and I welcome my menstrual period. * My lumbar muscles feel agile and flexible with each menstrual cycle. * I am relaxed and comfortable as my period approaches. * I want a well balanced diet and healthy. * I eat only foods that are good for my female body. * It is a pleasure to take good care of my body. * I do the level of exercise keeps my body healthy and flexible. * I handle stress easily and in a relaxed manner. * I love my body, I feel comfortable in my body. * My body is pain free and relaxed.Exercise 7: VisualizationsVisualization exercises will help set the mindset of a healthy body. This powerful technique can stimulate positive chemical and hormonal changes in your body to help create the desired result. Through positive visualization is the image of her body the way you want it to work and be. The body can change its chemical and hormone production in response to this technology and move toward a state of health improved. As a result, you may find this useful technique for reducing symptoms and severity of fibroids and endometriosis.Patients with many types of diseases have used visualization to great benefit. The technique was developed by Carl Simonton, MD, a radiation therapist for cancer that uses the display with their patients. Aware that his patients tended to see cancer as Grandequot destructive monster, who had rather see his immune system and white knights or great white sharks attack cancer cells small and insignificant, and their destruction (instead from the inside). In many cases, patients saw their health practice improve. This display for fibroids and endometriosis using a quot; borradoquot, the image that helps you see the fibroids or the endometrial implants fade and disappear. Simply omit the exercise that does not match your symptoms. * Sit in a comfortable position. Close your eyes. Begin to breathe deeply. Inhale and slowly let the air out. Feel your body begins to relax. * Imagine that you can look, as if through a magic mirror, deep inside his own body. * Focus on any area of their reproductive tract that you notice containing the endometrial implants. Watch any type of lesions, cysts, endometriosis or scarring caused. You can view today's implants, or you can just see endometriosis as discolored areas inside your body (colors such as gray or brown are common). * Next, imagine a large eraser, like the kind used to erase chalk marks, entering the pelvic area. View this eraser rubbing the areas of endometriosis. View these implants are beginning to loosen, reduce and finally disappear. * Now, look at your female organs. See the uterus and ovaries. They are attractive pink. Your uterus is relaxed and flexible. Any fibroid tumors are melting as you watch. Her uterus is becoming normal size and shape. Her uterus has a good blood circulation. See your ovaries. They are very healthy and take only the correct levels of hormones. They are bright pink and look like two almonds. The fallopian tubes that collect eggs and take them to the uterus are completely open and healthy. * See the abdominals and lower back. They are soft and pliable with a healthy muscle tone. They are relaxed and stressfree during their menstrual period. His abdomen is flat and your fluid balance is perfect in his pelvic area. * Look at your body and enjoy the feeling of peace and quiet that goes through your body. It feels wonderful. * Stop Watching the scene, and concentrate on deep breathing, inhaling and exhaling slowly. * Open your eyes and I feel great. Viewing this scene should have a minute or two. Relax in any images that particularly please you.More Stress Reduction TechniquesThe remainder of this chapter explains the techniques others have found useful for relaxing tight muscles and tight. You can also use these methods to induce deep emotional relaxation. Try them for a delicious experience.HydrotherapyFor centuries, people have used warm water to relax your muscles and soothe your mood. You can create your own quot; spaquot; at home by adding ingredients to the water bath and relax. I found two recipes useful in relieving muscle pain and stress associated with fibroids or endometriosis.Recipe 1: Alkaline Bath.Run a tub of hot water. Heat will increase their menstrual flow, to keep the water a little cooler if it is a problem. Add one cup of sea salt and a cup of baking soda to the bathtub. As this is a highly alkaline mixture, I recommend using only once or twice a month. I found it very helpful in reducing cramps and relieve anxiety and irritability. Soak for 20 minutes. It is likely to feel relaxed and sleepy after this bath. Try it at night before bedtime. Probably wake up feeling refreshed and energized the next day. Heat of any kind helps to release muscle tension. You can also try a hot water bottle or a warm compress to relieve cramps.Recipe 2: hydrogen peroxide Bath. This is one of my personal favorites. Hydrogen peroxide is a combination of water and oxygen. By adding to your bathroom, you quot; hiperoxigenarquot; the water. This helps to induce muscle relaxation. Hydrogen peroxide is cheap and can be purchased at your local pharmacy or supermarket. I usually add three pint bottles of solution of 3 percent to a bathtub full of warm water and soak for 30 minutes. If you use the biggest meal or technical grade hydrogen peroxide (35 per cent of the workforce), add only 6 ounces. With more concentrated peroxide, be sure to avoid direct contact with hands or eyes, and keep stored in a cool, since it is a very powerful oxidizer.SoundMusic can have a tremendously relaxing effect on our minds and bodies. For women with endometriosis, fibroids or cramps or pain, I recommend slow and quiet music, classical music is particularly good. This type of music can have a pronounced beneficial effect on their physiological functions. It can slow your pulse and heart rate, lower your blood pressure, and decrease your levels of stress hormones. It can also help reduce anxiety and induce sleep of women with cramps. Equally beneficial are nature sounds like ocean waves and rainfall, and these sounds can also induce a sense of peace and relaxation. I have patients who keep recordings of nature sounds in your car and at home for use when they feel stressed. Listen to calming music often as your menstrual cycle approaches and are aware of the increased levels of physical and emotional therapy tension.Biofeedback TherapyBiofeedback is an effective way to relieve the pain of all kinds caused by muscle tension and the poor circulation caused by a narrowing of the diameter of blood vessels. The constriction of skeletal muscle and smooth muscle wall of blood vessels usually occurs unconsciously, as a person who is not even aware is happening. A variety of factors, including emotional stress and nutritional or chemical imbalances can cause these involuntary muscle tension. This constriction can worsen problems such as fibroids, endometriosis, migraine, hypertension and pressure.Using biofeedback therapy, people learn to recognize when you are tensing your muscles. Once this answer is understood, fibroids and endometriosis patients can learn to relax your muscles to help relieve pain. Since muscle relaxation lowers muscular discomfort and improves blood flow, either of the factors could be monitored. For relief of cramps, women can learn to apply biofeedback therapy through a series of training sessions, which require about 10 visits 15 thirty minutes with a trained professional. During these sessions, a thermometer is inserted into the vagina like a tampon. The thermometer is connected to a digital reading machine that controls the internal temperature of women. The professional teaches you how to consciously change your vaginal temperature. Even a slight temperature increase indicates the blood flow and muscle relaxation in the pelvic area, with a concomitant relief of menstrual pain. After training sessions, most women are able to raise their temperature and thus will control their own cramps. I went through biofeedback training for many years and found to have a significant effect on my level of muscle tension. Many hospitals and universities have units of biofeedback and stress management clinics, making it relatively easy to find a treatment facility that offers this kind of therapy.Putting his Stress Reduction Program TogetherThis chapter has introduced many different ways to reset your mind and body to help menstruation of calm and relaxation time of the month and relieve symptoms of fibroids and endometriosis. Try each exercise at least once. Experiment with them to find the combination that works for you. Do not take seven years more than 20 to 30 minutes depending on how long you want to spend with each. Ideally, you should do the exercises at least a few minutes each day. Over time, that will help you gain insight into your beliefs and transform negative into positive new ones. Their ability to cope with stress should improve greatly. br br
